And here it is!

I’ve shifted.

2008: To a healthier year ahead! :)

Yippity-doooo! HAPPY NEW YEAR, WORLD!!!
My, December literally swooshed by. I am missing 2007 already. Awww. Here’s a flashback on how the very last month of 2007 was spent.
December was kickstarted by post exams celebration with three of my favourite people at DblO. Bad music and all, it was probably the best way to laugh away school stress and indulge in silly mindless fun.

Then it was all about fulfilling our promise to the dear girls at Little Red Heels. Three new series and three preorders in a month. I think we did all we could to revive LRH which pretty much went almost dead in the last few months of last semester. Phew.

Collin and I also took on a last minute secretarial job and walked away with more than 1K combined in that mere one week. Big money big money. Yay! Thanks Maomao once again! :)
Holidays is about indulgence, that is spending more time with more favourite people and things (like tang yuan). I also attended my grand niece, Sherbay’s 1st month birthday celebration! That makes me a grand aunt at a tender age of, erhem, 20something.

i love winter solistice for tang yuan and tang yuan only. :)

Holidays in December also means participating in the cliche photo-taking with X’mas lightings! Something I resisted (’cause it’s cliche like everyone and anyone are doing it) but succumbed in the end ’cause the the decorations give such nice lighting. Heh.

Come Christmas and I think I finally outgrown crowds (primarily under the influence of crowd-hater-Collin). Christmas was spent away from crowd infested Orchard, at some ktv pub at ECP with UG (and friends) and many ah bengs and ah sengs. Heh. All that not before a cheap but fabbb Christmas dinner with Collin at Astons Specialties, along East Coast Road!

And in the style of Collin and Qimin, X’mas presents were belated and shopped for together. Pfft. Perhaps next time, there will be surprises. Haha. Love you, love!

The last two days of December was spent fretting around Little Red Heels and also the impromptu New Year gathering at my house. Fatigue doesn’t seem like the best way to end an otherwise fatabulous year but in retrospect, it was sweat worthwhile! The photos turned out great and whatever we held up together for the gathering went as they should. I ain’t too sure if the guests enjoyed themselves, I was pretty much drained to entertain others much. So it’s all about immersing myself in the comfortable and familiar company and stepping into 2008 with these love ones! Thank you all for coming! I can proudly declare the first thing I did in 2008 is playing UNO Stacko, Scrabble and Monopoly. Hahahaha. Sweeet! :)

MAY 2008 BE A FATABULOUS YEAR FOR YOU! :)

I mentioned earlier that life after exams has been very very good and pretty much a heavenly indulgence.

You know the things that some people do, or at least the friends around me always do. Like you are not supposed to say things like “my/your complexion is getting better” or “my/your cramps are not so severe now”. Of which saying the like will send everyone in proximity on frantic knockings on any wood-looking material (or when none of these exists, knock the skull of the nearest woodblock-looking person).

As I type this, I am reminded of two persons.

#1: Meiqi – whom we all know practise this diligently. Heh.

#2: Maomao – who accused Zhen and I of praising her complexion the last time they stayed over at my place, urps.

Ok. The point is, swiftly after I declared my life a bliss, it fell into an abyss. Think: a circus clown juggling ten balls with only one pair of hands. Ack.

It started with promising dear Maomao that Collin and I will work for this 7 days trade workshop organised by Com*mon*wea*lth Sec*ret*ari*at. After all, Collin was literally bumming (after his rather hilarious internship application, erhem) and most importantly, the pay was a freaking 12 dollars per hour. Where the hell do you find a rate like that? (Thank you, Maomao! Muaksss)

The job was simple, to take minutes throughout the entire workshop which consists of many presentations packed back to back. I learnt, do not underestimate the job of a secretary. Damn lar, try having to pay full attention from 9am to 6pm. I don’t even do that in school.

Add to the equation, three preorders and one new series at LRH. I literally find myself sprawled across my bed at the end of every day.

But there are certain aspects of the job that was fatabulous. Money is one. The yummilicious food (one lunch break and two tea breaks to be exact) is another. My personal favourite was to be able to play dress up. Wahahaha. Call me a bimbo but I actually enjoy dressing office, albeit more fancifully. I was amazed to be able to pull out a week long of semi-formal clothes from my very office-wear lacking wardrobe. Last but not least, and unmeasureable in any sense, was the knowledge gained in the workshop.

I recall during the semester that Sam and I was talking about including certain country case studies into our report, to which he boldly declared that Africa is not a continent, i.e. he meant more like Africa is insignificant to our topic. If anything, the workshop gave me some firsthand insights into these developing countries, and it’s true, they have concerns that are quite different from us. I was feeling quite proud to be Singaporean at certain junctures, minus the times when some speakers get over-propagandist about our system, urg. The latter was quite a pain really.

When countries develop, the rich gets richer and the poor gets children.

Our thank-god-it’s-over break came in the form of three cute chipmunks called Alvin, Simon and Theodore! Ahhhhhhh, super duper cute. No spoilers here! You guys got to catch it! It’s simply loveeeee.

My favourite, Theodore! :)

Finally someone took notice..

If you like doing something, you just keep at it and push your boundaries.

It’s the battle of rationality against our hearts.

Can the two combine?

life post exams.

One word is enough to describe life after all the exams and projects madness – freakingliciousSHIOK. Heh. I have been maximising my time indulging in things and people whom I was greatly deprived this entire semester.

Like spending time on my Macbook, which Collin and I decided shall not be called Joshie (just Macbook is fine).
Like hanging out with Xiang and Jackson, as we work on Little Red Heels.
Like clubbing with the aforementioned duo and Collin, and the company of bad music, angmohs+SPGs and weird dance moves.
Like launching THREE new series on Little Red Heels within a span of one week. (School used to force us to reduce launches to once a month, evil school.)
Like fixing beach/clubbing/dinner dates with my loved ones.
Like going for facial and threading with my sis (and in the process, had Collin’s brows threaded to a slight arch such that he looks a little gay now).

This is the lifeeee, man! I don’t mean that school is bad ’cause hey, it is ONLY school that allows holidays like this one. It just comforting to know that you have work your ass off and now you are enjoying the seeds you sow. : )

Anyhow, the reason why I am blogging now is because I’ve spent the last 9 hours replying to comments and emails and it doesn’t make sense to go to bed now since I am meeting Xiang in like 2 hours time. BUT! I am not complaining. In fact, I am enjoying every moment to bits (which makes me wonder why it couldn’t be half as enjoyable when it comes to school work). Hmm.

Too much talk. Here’s some pics with the couple I’ve been spending so much time with thus far, I hope they aren’t bored of me already. whee*

Evidence of bad music,

boring crowd,

bored out people,

lousy drinkers,

but great company nevertheless!

Allow me to introduce the very versatile LRH crew.

We are in layman’s terms, yes, bao kar liao.

Scandalous.

I always knew i am just a cover up, but good taste anyhow! Utt’s cute!

Photoshoot for the X’mas series (which is up on LRH already btw if you would click the link on your right) was super shagged. But the photos turned out pretty niceeee. Here’s some shots you will never catch on LRH.

Introducing…

The Fashion Disaster!

Heh. I love the yummy bright colours! These stockings rock socks. :)

Ending it off with Xiang’s resident biscuit, erm, OREO!
